Martika Avalon de Sanders (1990) was born and raised in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 

Ever since she was a little girl, she was fascinated by the power of images and had a love for anything visual. In 2008 she enrolled at the Fotovakschool (School for Photographic Design) and quickly caught the photography bug. She finished her bachelor education in two years and decided to get her hands a little dirty, so she packed her bags to intern at the studio of renowned photographer Pamela Hanson in New York City.

After her internship, she decided to strike out on her own and focus on portrait and fashion photography and swiftly gained the attention of magazines and fashion brands. Today, her evergrowing list of clients includes a roster of bestselling authors, large fashion companies, athletes, musicians and celebrities  - both at home and abroad.

Throughout the years her work has taken her all over the globe and sparked a true wanderlust in her. 

Her experiences from her travels are what inspire her the most. 

"I get inspired by the people around me, strangers I meet and the places I visit." 

She has the unique ability to see beauty in anything and anyone she encounters through her lens.

Her style is best described as clean, minimalistic and colorful, with a strong point of view. 

"I love to capture a person's personality in an image and bring out their true self, their unique beauty."

She currently splits her time between Amsterdam and Los Angeles and plans to relocate to California in the near future.
